There are, in fact, many suppliers offering stars for sale, especially on the Internet, and the sale is usually linked to the right to name the star. Purchasers even receive a certificate that appears to place an official stamp on the whole transaction. In reality, it is pure fantasy and no more than a money-making scheme. The stars belong to no one and neither the purchase nor the name given to the star will recognized by an official organization.
