What does healthy really mean?

Filled under:

Sixty years ago, the World Health Organisation defined health as 'a state of complete physical, mental and social well being'. By this measure, most people could be said to be unhealthy for most of their lives-even in industrialized countries. Today, health is regarded more as a subjective awareness of well being. Of course, the prerequisites for well being are still sufficient amounts of healthy food and physical activity and adequate amounts of sleep, as well as a healthy environment and good social relationships.
