Will we one day fill our cars from the water tap?

  The idea for a water-fueled engine should not be confused with fuel cell-engines, where the power to run the electric motors comes from hydrogen and oxygen. At about the end of the 1990's there were reports in the media that an engineer in the Philippines had developed a true water-powered car. It was said that 5 liters of tap water were sufficient to drive the car for 500km at a maximum speed of 200km/h. At the heart of the water engine was said to be a coil which used 'ether energy' and water to power the vehicle. Alas, it turned out that no such engine actually existed, and the whole story was no more than yet another urban myth.
