What are the findings of Chandrayaan - 1 ?

Chandrayaan 1 uses

Chandrayaan-1 has taught us some new things about the Moon. To begin with, instruments on board- Chandrayaan-1 detected that there is water on the Moon. It was also confirmed that solar hydrogen nuclei were being absorbed dust grains on the lunar surface known as lunar regolith.

The Moon acts like a big sponge that absorbs electrically charged particles given out by the Sun. These particles interact with the oxygen present in some dust grains on the lunar surface, to produce water. Water on the Moon is just one of the many crucial Moon findings.

The terrain mapper camera on- board Chandrayaan-1 also sent the images of tracks of the lunar rovers used by astronauts to travel on the surface of the Moon.
