Spring is the time of change ion a forest. The sun shines brighter, and the Earth becomes warmer after the cold of winter. The sun's rays fall more directly on the soil of the forest, and bring in to life. Plants have not yet had the time to make food, so they continue to draw on food that they have stored in their roots, underground stems, or bulbs.
Flowers start to bloom, and tender green shoots appear on branches. As it becomes warmer, leaves unfurl, and trees are clothed in tender green. Insects now make their appearance, and the air is full of flies, midges, and mosquitoes.
Without doubt, spring is a time of awakening for a forest, as plants and animals celebrate the emergence of a new beginning.
