Why is Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam known as the missile man of India?

Dr. A.P.J.Abdul kalam is a renowned space scientist who became the president of India.  In 1962, Kalam joined the Indian Space Research Organization. Dr. Kalam was the chief executive of Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme. An aeronautical engineer, he was heavily involved in the development of the satellite Launch Vehicle, the SLV II. He was also involved in the development of the AGNI and PRITHVI missiles, and is fondly refereed to as the missile man of India for his work on the development of ballistic missile and space rocket technology.

Between 1992 and 1999, Abdul Kalam was the Scientific Ad visor to the De fence Minister and Secretary, Department of De fence Research & development, On 25th July 2002, the missile man of India became the President of the nation that he loves, and serves with awesome dedication.
