The body is the same temperature all over?

Filled under:

Although the human body has its own thermostat, which is set at 37°C, this temperature is only constant in the brain and core of the body. Depending on the outside temperature and the level of muscular activity, arms and legs can sometimes be a few degrees warmer or colder than the set point. Slight fluctuations in body temperature are also linked to our daily cycle of waking and sleeping. As we become tired, our body temperature drops, only to rise again when we wake after a sleep.
